Back by popular demand, American Legend will take you on a musical journey with songs from original country artists that influenced Cash’s writings and sound, including the Carter Family. Experience the Sun Records hits of the 50s and 60s, such as “I Walk the Line” and “Get Rhythm,” along with Cash’s last ground-breaking songs with American Recordings. Kevin Marcy

Nashville singer/songwriter Kevin Marcy was born into a musical family, Mr. Marcy attended PCPA in Southern California before he started playing music with his brothers. After forming the Marcy Brothers band, Kevin and his brothers secured two major label record deals, yielding a top 40 song and three #1 videos, among other honors. Touring with the Marcy Brothers, he opened for Johnny and June Carter Cash, Waylon Jennings, George Strait, Merle Haggard, Charlie Rich, Alabama, and Alan Jackson, to name a few! Kevin is also a songwriter, writing for three major publishing companies in Nashville. 364 Days to Go was cut by Brad Paisley for Paisley’s Christmas album. He recently released an acoustic album of original songs and performs at intimate venues for lucky fans around the state of California.

The Wildwood Roses

Versed in stage, song, and dance, The Wildwood Roses female vocal trio offers a spirited homage to The Carter Sisters and Country Roots Music.

Established in 2015, The Wildwood Roses have been a pivotal vocal force in honoring The Carter Sister legacy in the California tribute scene. They have been an active musical fixture in the Folsom community, appearing at city events and fundraisers. The Wildwood Roses have been a major player in Sunny Mitchell’s American Legend and Poets & Pioneers concerts, which both had their debut in Folsom and were produced in association with Theatre Ventures International. Their combined professional credits are numerous and they have collaborated with numerous Cash tribute bands across California and Colorado.

The Wildwood Roses have had the honor of playing with WS Holland (Johnny Cash’s only ever drummer) in American Legend and have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Johnny Cash’s nephew Mark Allan Cash and grandson Thomas Gabriel Cash at the Storyteller’s Hideaway Farm & Museum in Bon Aqua, TN, and third generation Carter Family members Lorrie Carter Bennett and Carlene Carter while visiting Nashville, TN. John Carter Cash requested The Wildwood Roses sing with him on stage during his visit to Folsom in 2022. The Roses are excited to celebrate their tenth anniversary in their\hometown and thrilled for adventures yet to come!

Karissa Carleton

She is beyond excited to be rejoining American Legend as Vivian and Dance Captain, after having performed with the original cast during its first three years. Karissa Carleton began her performing career as an active member of the Northern California professional and regional theatre community, while also training and competing as a dancer. She went on to earn her BFA in Musical Theatre from Pace University in New York City, where she continued performing for five years. After returning to California, Karissa transitioned into education and now shares her passion for the arts by teaching competitive dance and theatre to students of all ages at KM Dance Arts.
